This position will be responsible for the support and development of monitoring and automation platforms in network, cloud, and related infrastructure environments. Integrating these tools with our processes, environments, and teams in support of network engineering is our primary focus.

This position will primarily function remotely, but the candidate must be able to work in multiple Atlanta area data centers when needed.

• Develop expertise in the use of our network tools.
• Ensure proper monitoring and alerting for network tools.
• Ensure compliance to relevant internal and external standards for network tools.
• Support and document network tool processes for internal and external customers.
• Extend capabilities for network automation, services, and monitoring tools through the development of drivers and utility scripts, primarily in Power Shell and Python.
• OS maintenance of Windows and Linux servers, as well as network appliances.
• Application maintenance for automation, monitoring, and services environments.
• Hardware/appliance maintenance for automation, monitoring, and services environments.
• Function well in a shared programming environment using version control tools, testing tools, and issue tracking (Git, JIRA, Postman).
• Use well thought out designs and processes to eliminate downtime for network tools whenever possible. When it cannot be avoided, downtime should be minimized.
• Work with internal and external customers to deliver notifications, drive adoption, and empower their usage of our tools, APIs, and related services.
• Work with service providers to integrate, drive enhancements, and troubleshoot issues.
• Able to organize and prioritize independently, but willing to elevate and communicate with management through status reports, email, IM, voice/phone, and meetings.
• Take ownership of technical issues, including troubleshooting and communication. Identify both short and long-term solutions as appropriate.

• Able to leverage REST interfaces from a variety of languages
• Familiar with Power Shell, primarily in Windows environments
• Familiar with Python, primarily in Linux environments
• Familiar with database and other similar query languages
• Familiar with JSON and XML data formats
• Able to learn new environments, tools, and languages as needed
• Basic administration of Windows servers
• Basic administration of Linux servers
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems/situations and troubleshoot issues
• Problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and strong decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Able to foster a cooperative work environment through interpersonal interaction
• Basic familiarity with JIRA & Confluence
• Must have good English communication and writing skills
