Position SummaryThe individual in this position will provide project management support to EITS teams including project reports and documentation, meeting facilitation, and other project coordination tasks to assist the organization in managing and prioritizing numerous mission critical projects for UGA.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
- CAPM/PMP preferred. CAPM or PMP required within 6 months of employment date.
- Demonstrated skill in project management frameworks, managing projects from initiation to completion, creating and maintaining project plans, and providing project management services to clients.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working on technical projects related to applications, systems, and development life cycles.
- Excellent written, oral, and facilitation communication skills.
- Apply formal project management principles and practices during the planning, implementation, monitoring, and completion of projects.
- Create detailed project plans for completion of tasks that consider schedules, dependencies, institutional priorities, and resource limitations and conflicts.
- Coordinate efforts of project teams to facilitate cooperation and prevent delays.
- Develop and maintain standard project management documentation, such as project charters, project plans, timeline visuals, risk registers, issues logs, meeting agendas and summaries, and project status reports.
- Proactively oversee project execution by following up on the completion of tasks, reporting potential delays to management, and coordinating problem resolution efforts in the event of technical difficulties.
- Apply appropriate project management and delivery frameworks such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid, or the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), selecting the approach best suited to the project’s scope and objectives.
- Lead the execution of projects involving technology, business processes, communications, or organizational initiatives.
- Translate project goals into actionable work plans, resource assignments, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with functional and technical experts to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and implement changes.
- Monitor deliverable quality and alignment with project objectives, ensuring that outcomes meet stakeholder expectations.
- Clearly and professionally communicate objectives, progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.
- Lead or attend regular meetings to update leadership, staff, clients, and the UGA community on the progress of projects.
- Convey project team questions, updates, or concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
- Respond to inquiries about project details from leadership and project team members in a timely manner.
- Develop and facilitate formal presentations to project stakeholders when needed.
- Coordinate communications between functional and technical teams.
- Utilize standard status reporting templates and tools such as scorecards, dashboards, and other visuals to represent project progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
