The Systems Manager II- CAPA is responsible for administrative oversight of the university-wide course approval process system (CAPA) and the Public CV and Syllabus System. Duties include providing guidance and responding to inquiries and technical help requests from campus users, managing the course approval process, and ensuring systems meet university policies and technical requirements.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
- High-level technical expertise and extensive knowledge of university policies and procedures
- Experience with workflow systems, integration with student information systems, and user training
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Serve as the primary administrator for the CAPA system.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications of solutions within the CAPA system.
- Maintain and update the CAPA system and related web pages as necessary.
- Provide technical training for CAPA users, including preparation of training materials, coordination of training sessions, and conducting training sessions.
- Serve as the subject matter expert concerning data.
- Manage the technical integration between the CAPA system and student information systems such as Degree Works and Banner, including analysis, review, and resolving issues and entering, modifying, and validating course data.
- Manage access and user database for the CAPA system, adding new users, removing inactive users, and updating user information.
- Provide guidance on development and technical improvements to the CAPA system.
- Provide information and assist with questions related to curriculum issues and interpretation of curriculum policy.
- Manage the CAPA departmental email account.
- Respond to queries via phone and email from departments, schools, and colleges concerning curriculum policy and course approval forms.
- Provide support for faculty governance committees, assisting the Associate Vice President for Instruction, Registrar, and the University Curriculum Committee.
- Provide guidance to faculty Curriculum Committee and subcommittees related to the course approval process.
- Process and review new course and course change proposals in CAPA.
- Review proposals for compliance with UGA and BOR policies.
- Correspond with faculty, deans, and directors to address problems.
- Submit course proposals to appropriate University Curriculum Committee subcommittees.
- Approve new courses and course changes in CAPA and prepare courses for integration into Banner.
- Serve as the primary administrator for the Public CV and Syllabus System.

- Backfill on UGA Bulletin and PARC system processes.
- Backfill on various curriculum and student support system processes.
- Sit at a computer for long periods of time.
