Senior D365 F&O Manufacturing Functional Consultant

Job Description

Avanade Inc is seeking a Senior D365F&O Manufacturing Consultant in Houston, TX to be part of Avanade’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team.

• Collect information, analyze requirements, solve business process problems, and provide technical and operational support to Avanade’s clients implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP (D365F&O).
• Lead the D365F&O Manufacturing workstream in client ERP implementations.
• Match business processes to application requirements, transform business requirements into an implementation model, and document D365F&O configurations in an application model.
• Lead prototyping and configuration of applicable processes within D365F&O to ensure system meets client needs.
• Lead workshops with clients, consultants, and client leaders to analyze and design solutions and handle gaps in D365F&O detected during prototyping.
• Work with the Avanade ERP technical team to design, develop, and test custom solutions approved by clients to address specific gaps within D365F&O and third‑party applications and services.
• Lead creation or refinement of client business process hierarchies within their business process models so that functional and non‑functional requirements are identified and linked.
• Document settings in D365F&O and prepare clients to use their ERP system.
• Support clients in testing, acceptance, and deployment of the ERP system into day‑to‑day operational use.
• Periodic travel to client sites (domestic and international) up to 80% of the time.
• Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Houston, TX.

The offered salary range for this position in Texas is $149,718–$150,800 per year. Compensation varies by various factors.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or closely related field.
• At least seven (7) years of experience as a Senior D365F&O Manufacturing Consultant or in a similar role in a technology or IT consulting environment.
• At least five (5) years of experience implementing Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations or earlier versions of Dynamics AX.
• At least five (5) years of experience performing Application Lifecycle Management using Azure Dev Ops and/or Team Foundation Services or preparing Fit‑Gap analysis and functional design documents for client users.
• At least three (3) years of experience in the ERP manufacturing business domain covering all manufacturing and supply chain modules within D365.
• At least three (3) years of experience leading manufacturing and supply chain work streams with accountability for the ownership of supply chain business processes.
• At least three (3) years of experience running workshops with clients, consultants and client leaders to analyze and design solutions for any application, and handling gaps detected during prototyping.
• At least four (4) years of experience leading the design of functional components related to Manufacturing and Supply chain processes during presales and serving as an expert on capabilities and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• At least four (4) years of experience designing, building and demonstrating scenario flows with Microsoft Dynamics 365 aligned to clients’ business teams’ key requirements.
• At least four (4) years of experience providing input on estimating the functional workstream for any implementation and support projects and advising the delivery team during functional solution design.
