Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent plus 10 years of professional experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience.

• Master's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Higher Education Administration, or related field.
• Experience managing IT operations within higher education.
• Experience supporting GIS, CAD/BIM, visualization technologies, digital fabrication, and high-performance computing environments.
• Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and project management.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, ITIL, Microsoft, AWS, or equivalent.

The IT Director serves as the senior technology leader for the College of Environment and Design (CED), providing strategic vision and operational oversight for all information technology resources, services, and technology-enabled learning environments. The role develops and implements technology strategies to support instruction, research, outreach, and administration.

The IT Director oversees technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, classroom and studio technologies, technical support services, software/hardware procurement, digital innovation initiatives, and technology budgeting. It collaborates with faculty, staff, students, university leadership, and Enterprise Information Technology Services (EITS) to ensure resources are secure, reliable, and aligned with institutional priorities.

The IT Director also serves as a liaison for technology planning related to the College’s instructional and research environments, including design studios, fabrication spaces, laboratories, visualization technologies, and collaborative learning spaces.

• Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise technology infrastructure, networking, servers, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
• Experience managing Windows, macOS, and mobile device ecosystems.
• Knowledge of classroom technology, audiovisual systems, and instructional technology platforms.
• Strong project management and organizational leadership skills.
• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and develop implementation strategies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with individuals with varying levels of technical expertise.
