Supply Chain Planning Manager

Job Summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Manager in Athens, GA. The candidate will manage teams that develop, test and implement the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) to support production operations. The role focuses on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns and improved order‑to‑delivery while aligning cross‑functional teams across the end‑to‑end supply chain.

• Lead teams in gathering and analyzing part, supplier, and flow characteristics to develop the PFEP for the facility.
• Supervise cross‑functional teams to create value stream maps, returnable loop sizes, and support business cases, total cost of ownership analysis for packaging projects, vendor managed inventory, and packaging budget development.
• Apply the supply‑chain planning process and lead team efforts to develop lean material flow plans, including layout, packaging design, and material presentation for all material entering the facility.
• Achieve supply‑chain performance targets focused on inventory reduction, increased inventory turns, and improved order‑to‑delivery results.
• Support analysis, investigation, root cause and corrective action for PFEP‑related issues.
• Document PFEP data with the Supply Chain Planning Analyst and ensure data accuracy.
• Perform physical, tactical work to eliminate supply‑chain constraints at the facility and/or value stream level.

• Accuracy and attention to detail with a focus on precision.
• Proficiency in data gathering & analysis tools and techniques.
• Effective communication skills to transmit, receive and interpret ideas and information.
• Process improvement mindset with focus on continuous improvement of processes, products and services.

• Leadership skills to drive supply‑chain improvements.
• Experience with SAP.
• Strong understanding of company policies, procedures and product knowledge.
• Background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, MRP, Demand Management and/or Logistics.
