About the College/Unit/Department The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is hiring motivated, dependable, and team-oriented individuals for roles that advance the University of Georgia's mission of public service and outreach. The Georgia Center, located on campus across from Stegeman Coliseum, is the campus hub for the development and administration of non-credit professional and continuing education courses and is home to the on-campus hotel, the UGA Hotel and Conference Center.

Minimum Qualifications: Please refer to the Additional Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification section. Minimum qualifications may be defined by the department based on the responsibilities of the position.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous cleaning experience preferred
Position Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring that all public areas of the Georgia Center remain clean and presentable at all times.
Additional Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification: Graduation from a standard high school, GED or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Competencies:
Dependable, responsible, honest, strong work ethic, positive attitude; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to work under time constraints and in a fast-paced environment; ability to speak and understand English.
Physical Demands: This is a physically demanding position. Ability to lift or move at least 30 lbs. Ability to push a 50-lb cart. Ability to bend, lift, kneel, reach, and work with hands. Must be able to stand on feet and walk for long periods. Must be able to see dust, hair, lint and dirt. Be able to smell odors to identify the source to clean.
Attentive to detail in cleaning and presentation.
Driving: No – The successful candidate would have to provide proof of a valid driver’s license when offered employment.
Financial Responsibilities: No
Duties/Responsibilities- Clean and maintain all public areas including lobbies, hallways, entrances, vending rooms, and fitness center. (Percentage of time: 75%)
- Pick up trash and recycling in offices. (Percentage of time: 15%)
- Stock cart and storage areas with supplies. (Percentage of time: 5%)
- Participate in training sessions, departmental meetings, and other duties as assigned. (Percentage of time: 5%)
Tobacco use is prohibited on the University of Georgia campus and in the Georgia Center facility.
This is a temporary position that will last less than 12 months.
