Manufacturing

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Fabrications Production Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you will collaborate with the team and maintain and improve processes and systems in the manufacturing of the products produced in the facility. Further you will analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.

• Running a small business unit for people, quality, velocity, and cost
• Monitoring and improving shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
• Ensuring fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
• Determining priorities and sequencing jobs
• Scheduling and prioritizing constrained resources, and adjusting staffing to meet flow and customer requirements
• Determining and executing disciplinary action when appropriate
• Procurement and distribution of production material to meet schedules
• Ensuring preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
• Implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, internal certification and others
• Evaluating, assessing, identifying and leading the deployment of workforce training

• Production Training:
  Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.
• Process Improvement:
  Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintain focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
• Planning and Organizing:
  Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
• Talent Management:
  Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes; ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees at the workplace.

• Strong background in leadership and team building and execution in a welding environment
• Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers and drive change management on the team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Experience collecting, presenting and making policy based on data collection

The primary location for this position is Athens, GA.
