Overview

We are seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support quality assurance and inspection activities within a manufacturing and fabrication environment. This role is responsible for ensuring welding procedures, fabrication processes, and finished products meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of welding inspection processes, structural steel or fabrication environments, and AWS welding codes and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual weld inspections and quality audits on fabricated components and assemblies
  • Ensure compliance with AWS codes, welding procedures, and customer specifications
  • Review welding documentation, WPS/PQRs, and inspection reports
  • Identify weld defects, non-conformances, and quality concerns
  • Collaborate with production, fabrication, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
  • Monitor welding activities and ensure adherence to established procedures
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
Qualifications
  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
  • Experience with in structural steel, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, weld symbols, and inspection techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and specifications
  • Knowledge of AWS standards and quality control procedures
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with in heavy fabrication or structural steel environments
  • Familiarity with NDT methods and quality systems
  • Prior experience supporting manufacturing or construction projects
