This position is located at the Pre-Commercial Plant located in Athens, GA and reports to the Plant Manager. The position is responsible for leading a team of hourly production associates and for achieving safety, productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, and delivery objective
Key Responsibilities- Manage a diverse team of production associates:
Foster a working environment that promotes open communications, teamwork and individual engagement to accomplish goals and objectives Ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner to meet department objectives Approve timecards to ensure accuracy and on-time associate pay - Ensure that written performance evaluations of supervised associates are completed as required, provide continuous feedback on personnel performance issues, and take immediate action to recognize achievements and address performance issues
- Work closely with Human Resources to successfully manage personnel related procedures to include:
- Analysis of current and future hiring needs
- Interviewing and hiring process
- Training and cross-training plans
- Administering disciplinary action
- Keep Plant Manager informed of all situations and decisions that could impact the performance of the location
- Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) and Engineering groups to implement new products and processes
- Manage department variances daily to control costs
- Manage a visual workplace that maintains material flow and 5S standards
- Set schedule for plant production centered around personnel capability and customer needs
- Manage development of SOPs for new and existing processes. Perform regular audits to ensure process relevancy and operator compliance
- Responsible for reporting production through ERP
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimal of 5-7 years of Manufacturing and leadership experience
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Technical Degree
- Supervisor or management experience
- Ability to manage multiple activities and use resources creatively
- Analytical/problem-solving skills
- Communications skills – verbal, written, and group presentations
- Ability to be an effective team player and mentor team members
