Job Summary

Entry support individual contributor that executes tasks, following a defined standard output or set of procedures. Provides support for internal teams in the Manufacturing Assembly area, closely follows established administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment. Responsible for using equipment for the assembly and processing tasks to produce finished products according to established specifications.

Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Completes tasks for the support function of the Manufacturing Assembly area under direct supervision, and closely follows established administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.
  • Cleans and conducts maintenance tasks based on best practices in the industry to foster a safe working environment.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment as needed.
  • Installs components of basic in-process products, assemblies, or sub-assemblies on the assembly line.
  • Builds competency with routine machinery under direct supervision.
  • Records daily assembly production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis.
  • Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson's Leadership Imperatives and Credo.
  • Operates production equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products.
  • Assists with set up of equipment.
  • Notifies Supervisor/Lead of maintenance and/or repairs needed on equipment.
  • Prepares accurate records/documentation related to work progress.
  • Reports production problems and any associates who are not behaving in accordance with the J&J established policies to the Line Facilitator or Manufacturing Manager as applicable.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness for continued training.
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed.
  • Checks products on assembly line to confirm proper assembly and removes defective products.
  • Troubleshoots minor production problems.
  • Must cross‑train on all jobs in department based on business need and be able to fill in for associates as needed.
  • Trains personnel in the area.
  • Coordinated and led day-to-day activities in the production manufacturing area as necessary, in alignment with immediate or direct supervision.
  • Responsible for delivering department outputs daily for assigned shift.
  • Monitors assigned area and reallocates resources as necessary to meet schedule requirements within the department.
  • Prepares weekly staffing plan for the area.
  • Demonstrates leadership by delegating work of others, gathering information, and completing reports as requested.
  • Assists in the hiring and review process, helps schedule overtime, work assignments, and vacations, moves associates to level workloads and meets daily production requirements.
  • Creates and actively pursues a team‑based, non‑threatening environment designed to promote teamwork and open exchange of ideas.
  • Leads crossover meetings and ensures cross‑shift participation.
  • Frequently identifies and communicates progress and areas of improvement to team members.
  • Responsible for schedule attainment, training adherence for the shift, and for ensuring sustainability of the 6S program, cleanliness of the area, and maintaining all assigned work areas safe, clean and in good operating condition.
  • Collaborates with Supervisor on all department performance and operator issues, coordinating priorities with other shift Leads.
  • Oversees and coaches associates through basic performance problems.
  • Ensures that employees within shift adhere to GMPs, GDPs and act in accordance with their process specifications.
  • Escalates any major safety, quality or equipment downtime situation to the Shift Line Facilitator or the Manufacturing Manager as applicable.
  • Promotes a safety‑focused culture and the Good Saves program within his Shift.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Supports projects and validations as needed.
  • Provides recommendations and opportunities for OEE improvements.
  • Opens work orders if repairs are required in the facilities or the equipment.
