Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, boilers, pumps, liquid fillers, packaging equipment, material handling equipment, bulk delivery equipment, and blending/mixing systems. This position will primarily focus on the utilities side of maintenance.

3rd Shift; 9pm-5:30am – flexibility to work OT as needed.

• Observes equipment to ensure it operates to OEM standard or production satisfaction.
• Analyzes mechanical, pneumatic, electrical problems and makes repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
• Answers maintenance calls in a timely fashion and assists others in troubleshooting.
• Performs routine PMs, repairs, rebuilds and modifications on all equipment assigned.
• Wires moderately complex control circuits.
• Performs electronic component replacement, substitution, set‑up and calibration.
• Fabricates, repairs, and installs hangers and all types of piping including hot/cold water, steam, process, and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phases.
• Welds various types of metals.
• Makes out machines for most metals, plastics, and composites.
• Fabricates or replicates minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.
• Completes size changeovers, makes adjustments, and troubleshoots liquid fillers and packaging equipment.
• Identifies problems and completes repairs with minimal downtime or supervision.
• Troubleshoots 3‑phase 480 V motors and VFDs.
• Completes any necessary paperwork associated with repairs or calibration.
• Completes Work Orders assigned to them or their department.
• Provides coverage and or assistance as needed throughout facility to meet production schedules and equipment needs.
• Ensures all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Follows all company policies & procedures as well as GMPs.
• Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident‑free workplace.
• Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety‑related issues to Management.

• Compensation:
  Pay starting at $32.64 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $34.33 per hour in the quarter after their 6‑month anniversary.
• Shift premium: $1 per hour.

• 1 year maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 1 year of experience troubleshooting 3‑phase (480 V) circuits, motor starters and controls, and electronic circuit boards.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds repeatedly, and walk and stand for long periods.
