Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAt ABB
, we help industries outrun the competition with leaner and cleaner solutions. Your work will support the business in achieving customer needs by adhering to ABB systems, processes, and procedures. You will perform maintenance on machinery and equipment inside and outside the plant, read and interpret technical diagrams, and ensure facility safety and reliability.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance and maintaining exterior and interior facilities as part of the Athens Plant Maintenance Team.
- Demonstrating high mechanical skill and self‑motivation.
- Receiving and understanding verbal and written technical instructions; responding in English.
- Responding to plant emergencies and breakdowns.
- Daily reporting to supervisor and/or team.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and other documents in hard copy or electronic formats.
- Functioning safely in an industrial manufacturing setting, including shift and weekend work as required.
- Adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
- Using overhead crane/hoist systems.
- Interpreting and following manuals for equipment maintenance in English.
- Demonstrating required proficiency (80%) on grade‑progression checklists.
- Following lock‑out/tag‑out and all other safety procedures.
Completing other tasks as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Conform to policies and procedures as an ABB employee.
- Perform housekeeping and exterior and interior facility maintenance.
- Train, share knowledge and information with coworkers.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Must use company‑designated personal protective equipment. Must have visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, prints, and gauges. Must frequently bend, stoop, twist, and lift (assisted and unassisted); stand for extended periods; work in concrete, heat, cold, noise environments; and perform physically repetitive tasks.
Education and Experience RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent (GED). Computer and maintenance technology proficiency. Technical school training preferred. Basic computer skills and maintenance experience and/or certification. Athens Plant Maintenance Exam.
