Dining Commons Assistant Manager
Position Summary – Responsible administrative and supervisory work in food service management in a large dining commons. Assists the manager in planning, organizing, and directing Food Services personnel in food production and services; holds regular production meetings; conducts regular sanitation inspection program; works under the direction of the Food Operations (Dining) Manager or Dining Commons Manager and is evaluated through observation and customer satisfaction metrics.
Responsibilities- Assist in overall operation as directed by the manager.
- Plan, organize, and direct Food Services personnel in food production and services.
- Hold regular production meetings with production staff.
- Conduct regular sanitation inspection program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
- Proficient at maintaining a variety of operating and general records.
- Knowledge of institutional or commercial food service management procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements applicable to large‑scale food service operations.
- Basic knowledge of PC’s and/or food production software.
Move loads up to 50 lbs, unload and stock products; perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs; repetitive motion of wrists, arms, and shoulders; reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel; work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors; work long hours standing and under high temperature conditions.
Equipment and DrivingDriving is required; position has access to financial resources and security access.
