Job Summary
At the Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center, Clean Line Mechanics play a vital role in the aircraft engine restoration process by ensuring engine parts are cleaned, processed, and prepared to meet FAA, quality, and operational standards. In this hands‑on role, you will operate cleaning equipment, handle engine components, monitor chemical and bath parameters, and follow established repair station procedures to support safe and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
This is a 2nd Shift position:
Monday – Thursday 3:30 pm – 2 am
- Perform cleaning operations in accordance with repair station procedures, including degreasing, scrubbing, rinsing, and pressure washing aircraft engine parts
- Load and process parts using the correct baskets, equipment, and chemical baths
- Monitor and maintain bath parameters, chemical concentrations, and temperature gauges to ensure compliance with process requirements
- Handle engine parts safely and properly throughout the cleaning process
- Follow all Employee Health & Safety (EH&S), environmental, and quality procedures
- Include for 2nd Week Shift: 2nd‑weekend shift employees are expected to participate in ongoing cross‑training across assembly cells and support functions. Cross‑functional teamwork helps ensure operational flexibility, consistent throughput, and high‑quality engine delivery.
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience cleaning mechanical components, machinery, or industrial equipment
- Familiarity with manufacturing cleaning processes, chemicals, or pressure washing equipment
- Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications

While this role is classified as Onsite, employees may experience a blended work environment. Employees primarily work at the Columbus Engine Center, and commuting responsibilities are personal.
