Our client, a sixth-generation, family-owned manufacturer, is staffing up its new, state-of-the-art facility in the Athens area and is seeking an experienced Machine Operator. - Experience in an energy plant, power plant, boiler room, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of plant systems such as fuel handling, thermal oil, steam generation, and water treatment.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with large rotating equipment and process systems.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot operational issues and communicate clearly with supervisors and maintenance.
- Attention to detail in monitoring gauges, performing inspections, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Commitment to safety protocols, PPE use, and housekeeping in a high-energy environment.
- Physical ability to walk the plant, climb, and handle materials and equipment safely.
- Operating and monitoring fuel and process chip handling systems, including unloading, cleaning, chip flow, and fuel feed to the energy plant.
- Running and overseeing thermal oil, steam generator, and RO water systems to support continuous, stable production.
- Performing hourly inspections, collecting and analyzing water and oil samples, and maintaining filters to keep systems within specifications.
- Monitoring and maintaining ash conveyance systems to ensure safe, efficient removal and handling.
- Troubleshooting alarms and process issues quickly, and escalating complex problems to supervisors or maintenance as needed.
- Communicating with assistant operators, providing direction and training on procedures and safety practices.
- Completing operational logs, downtime reports, and inspection records accurately and on time.
- Supporting general plant housekeeping, routine maintenance tasks, and other duties as assigned by leadership.
