This position is located at the Pre-Commercial Plant located in Athens, GA and reports to the Plant Manager. The position is responsible for leading a team of hourly production team members on 2nd and 3rd shift achieving safety, productivity, efficiency, cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a diverse team of production team members:

Foster a working environment that promotes open communications, teamwork and individual engagement to accomplish goals and objectives

Ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner to meet department objectives

Coordinate to approve timecards to ensure accuracy and on-time associate pay

  • Ensure that written performance evaluations of supervised team members are completed as required, provide continuous feedback on performance issues, and take immediate action to recognize achievements and address performance issues
  • Drive a Safety-First culture by ensuring all team members are trained in and fully participate in the safety process
  • Ensure appropriate job-related training is given to all team members and provide the necessary resources in order that team members can effectively perform their job-related duties.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to successfully manage personnel related procedures to include:

Analysis of current and future hiring needs

Interviewing and hiring process

Training and cross-training plans

Administering disciplinary action

  • Keep Plant Manager informed of all situations and decisions that could impact the performance of the location
  • Work closely with other Supervisors, Research and Development (R&D) and Engineering groups to implement new products and processes
  • Manage shift variances daily to control costs
  • Manage a visual workplace that maintains material flow and 5S standards
  • Support and supervise schedule for plant production centered around personnel capability and customer needs
  • Manage development of SOPs for new and existing processes. Perform regular audits to ensure process relevancy and operator compliance
  • Responsible for reporting production through ERP
Qualifications

- Required:
  • Associates/Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent proven Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Minimal of 2+ years of Manufacturing leadership experience
Qualification
- Preferred:
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Technical Degree
  • Supervisor or management experience
