Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 5+ years professional experience in communications, content creation, or related field.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, academic environment.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation and comprehensive communication practices.
- Demonstrated familiarity with a range of communications principles including messaging, writing, editing, graphic design, visual communications, branding, marketing, advertising, electronic communications, social media, and generative AI tools.
- Ability to communicate technical content to a general audience and a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience working with business/industry, alumni engagement, and development initiatives.
- Experience in a higher education, independent school, or nonprofit environment.
- Strong skills using technology in the workplace, familiarity with content management systems and email platforms; social media competencies.
- Significant prior communications experience writing and producing publications and developing and placing stories.
The Communications and Content Manager is a creative, strategic leader responsible for shaping and sharing the story of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. This role centers on executing a dynamic content strategy focused on digital that communicates the College's mission, academic excellence, and community impact to a wide range of external and internal audiences, including academic peers, prospective and current students and parents, faculty, alumni, donors, and the broader public, including local, state, and federal government entities.
With a strong emphasis on digital content creation, the manager produces compelling written, visual, and multimedia materials, such as short-form videos, email and website marketing, content for social media channels, that highlight the College's exceptional and diverse programs, research, scholarship, and creative output, and its people, including alumni, students, faculty, and staff.
