POSITION SUMMARY

As an integral member of our communications team, the Digital Communications Specialist plays a key role in shaping our narrative. This position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, from crafting compelling digital stories and managing our social media presence to overseeing our website content. You will engage in both internal and external communications, enhancing our brand through innovative marketing and promotional strategies.

Your skills in photography and videography will bring our stories to life, while your expertise in managing print collateral and planning events will ensure our message resonates across all platforms. This role is perfect for a creative and proactive communicator eager to make a significant impact.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience in graphic design, communications, and website design

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint
• Background Clearance
• Valid Driver’s License

WORK EXPERIENCE:

• Print and graphic design experienced preferred
• Photography and/or videography experience
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in digital marketing, journalism, or communications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Skills-based Competencies

Required to perform single, technical tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including design software applications; video editing; working with a cloud storage system; preparing and maintaining accurate records; applying job-related codes, regulations, and laws;

performing standard bookkeeping; planning and managing projects; screening telephone calls; and proofreading.

Knowledge-based Competencies

Required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: business telephone etiquette; concepts of grammar and punctuation; concepts of design, layout, and typography;

event planning; and social media.
