Job Summary

Under the direction of the Communications Department, the Marketing & Creative Content Coordinator supports the city’s marketing, branding, communications, and creative content efforts through photography, videography, event coverage, promotional campaign support, and youth council program coordination.

This position is responsible for creating, capturing, editing, organizing, and producing visual content that highlights city services, events, venues, parks, public projects, downtown activity, community initiatives, and other city programs. This position requires creativity, flexibility, strong organization, and the ability to support occasional evenings, weekends, and special events.

This position works collaboratively across the City’s Economic Development Initiative, encompassing Downtown Development, Marketing, Events, and IT, supporting creative and content needs across departments as assigned. This role operates under the overall oversight of the Assistant to the City Manager, with direct supervision and day-to-day work assignment provided by the Communications, Marketing & Outreach Director. Because these functions work closely together in service of the City’s broader economic development goals, this position may experience periods of crossover in responsibilities with other departments within the Initiative.

Major Duties:

  • Captures and edits photography and videography for city events, concerts, programs, parks, facilities, venues, public projects, community initiatives, downtown activity, and other city-related needs
  • Produces creative content including short-form videos, event recaps, promotional clips, photo galleries, graphics, flyers, advertisements, presentations, signage, and other branded materials
  • Coordinates and assists with print and digital promotional materials for city events, community groups, city parks, facilities, venues, programs, and campaigns
  • Works collaboratively with the Communications Coordinator to develop creative assets for social media, websites, newsletters, digital signage, print materials, and other public-facing communication channels
  • Maintains, organizes, archives, and manages city photo, video, logo, graphic, and creative assets for future use
  • Supports sponsorship fulfillment by assisting with recognition materials, event signage, digital recognition, and related promotional deliverables
  • Assists with city merchandise, inventory tracking, and related promotional needs as assigned.
  • Produces assigned photography, video, graphics, signage, and other creative assets supporting approved City programs, projects, events, and communications campaigns.
  • Serves as the staff advisor for the city’s Youth Council, including assisting with meetings, communication, program planning, and student engagement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Knowledge Required

  • Skill in photography, videography, video editing, graphic design, and visual storytelling
  • Skill in creating content for websites, newsletters, digital signage, print materials, presentations, campaigns, and social media support
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite:
    Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Canva, Cap Cut, or similar creative tools
  • Knowledge of design principles, branding, and marketing best practices
  • Ability to capture high-quality content in fast-paced event environments
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, outdoor assignments, and special events
