Position Summary

The Director of Annual Giving at the University of Georgia Public Service and Outreach leads and directs the division's annual giving efforts, helping to build a culture of philanthropy and increase participation among PSO supporters. This front-line role involves strategic planning and execution of direct mail, email, and phone solicitations for the units of Public Service and Outreach. In addition, this role will generate various fundraising and strategic reports for the PSO Development Office.

This position will manage an active portfolio to cultivate and solicit leadership-level annual gifts.

This role will collaborate with the central university's development office to synchronize messaging and strategy for division-wide annual giving campaigns. This position works collaboratively with PSO unit communications staff to design and implement multi-channel fundraising solicitations, including direct mail, digital campaigns, phonathons, and other methods of support. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, creative, and passionate about higher education fundraising. This is a full-time professional position with regular travel required.

Additional duties may be required for special events, which may fall on nights and/or weekends. This position supervises the Sponsorship Coordinator and reports to the Director of Development for Public Service and Outreach.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with donors and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of fundraising strategies, donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Knowledge of effective communication techniques and marketing strategies to engage donors.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and databases.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple fundraising campaigns simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze donor data and fundraising metrics to inform strategies.
