4‑H McIntosh County Ameri Corps State Member (Part‑time)

The Ameri Corps State program is a federally funded grant providing U.S. citizens with the opportunity to serve in their own country. The Georgia 4‑H Ameri Corps State member provides 4‑H programming directly to youth under the direction of the County Extension Agent. Supervision is also provided by the Ameri Corps State Program Coordinator. This includes planning, implementation, and delivery of programming including in‑school and after‑school club meetings, camp, and other 4‑H programming delivered in the county as well as volunteer recruitment and transportation of youth.

The member will also assist the Ameri Corps State Program Coordinator in collecting impact data by administering surveys to youth and entering data into provided spreadsheets. Members should comply with Ameri Corps guidelines such as monthly reporting, monthly webinars, and other trainings.

This posting is for a part‑time member serving for 12 months for the period of September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027. Members will log a total of 900 hours, averaging 20 hours per week, depending on start date.

• 55% – Deliver 4‑H positive youth development programming directly to youth, including facilitating/teaching in‑school club meetings, preparing students for 4‑H Project Achievement, attending 4‑H Summer Camp, designing and implementing community service projects, and assisting with other 4‑H base programming. Members will also assist with day‑to‑day activities in planning and development of 4‑H programming, some of which may be delivered virtually, and provide transportation to youth.
• 20% – Support and provide leadership to the county 4‑H Volunteer program: recruit, screen, train, and engage volunteers; manage the volunteer registration database; recruit at least five new volunteers during the service period.
• 15% – Track and document data related to Ameri Corps performance measures; complete monthly reports; administer surveys to youth and conduct data entry.
• 10% – Attend local, district, and state program activities and events; attend district and state‑wide trainings, including the Ameri Corps New Service Year Orientation and additional face‑to‑face trainings and at least monthly webinars.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Independent judgment and passion for service.
• Ability to plan, develop, and direct educational programs directed at youth.

Typical schedule:

8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required.

Advertised Salary: $1,037 monthly stipend.

Driving, light lifting, occasional outdoor work in adverse climate.
