Overview
This clinical position delivers age-appropriate primary care to eligible members of the University Community at the University of Georgia Health Center. The Health Center is a large multi-specialty ambulatory care organization that is accredited by the Joint Commission. Nurse practitioners are members of the medical staff whose protocol is to provide age-appropriate primary health care in the form of prevention, health education, promotion of wellness, assessment and treatment.
Responsibilities- Clinical Services: Provision of primary care to include obtaining current and past history, performing physical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Prescribing medications as needed, minor procedures, patient education, ordering and interpreting clinical tests, care coordination, and referrals. Documentation of encounters in an electronic medical record.
- Leadership and teamwork: Communicating with and integrating into a team; participating in process improvement; attending and participating in committee and staff meetings; contributing to the culture of service excellence; obtaining continuing medical education credits as required for licensure and national certifications.
- Minimum: Master’s degree in nursing or a related field, 2 years of professional experience, and valid state license.
- Preferred: UHC minimum:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license; master’s degree level nurse practitioner program with certification as a Nurse Practitioner; current BLS Certification or attainment within 180 days of start.

Work Schedule
:
Monday - Friday 8 am – 5 pm. The position is currently advertised as a full-time (12-month) role with potential for future flexibility (such as part-time and/or 9, 10, or 11-month schedules) based on employee preference and operational needs. Benefits are determined by the position’s full-time equivalent (FTE). If a reduced or partial-year schedule is chosen or offered in the future, the associated benefits package may change according to University and USG guidelines.
