Position SummaryThis clinical position delivers age appropriate primary care to eligible members of the University Community at the University of Georgia Health Center. The Health Center is a large multi-specialty ambulatory care organization accredited by the Joint Commission. Nurse practitioners are members of the medical staff whose protocol agreement is to provide age-appropriate primary health care in the form of prevention, health education, promotion of wellness, assessment and treatment.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
Master’s degree in a related field - Experience:
3-5 years of related professional experience - Licenses/Certifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or equivalent
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; possession of a license as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the State of Georgia.
- Completion of a master’s level nurse practitioner program with certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS Certification.
- 3-5 years College Health experience.
- Clinical knowledge base, physical assessments, minor procedures, facility with electronic records, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to exhibit a commitment to inclusive excellence and belonging.
- Standing, typing, walking limited distances, moving from sitting to standing frequently, pushing/pulling, lifting, bending, squatting and kneeling as needed.
- Provision of primary care to include obtaining current and past history, performing physical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Prescribing medications as needed, minor procedures, patient education, ordering and interpreting clinical tests, care coordination, and referrals.
- Documentation of encounters in a concise yet detailed and informative manner using an electronic medical record.
- Communicating with and integrating into a team.
- Participating in process improvement.
- Attending and participating in committee and staff meetings. Contributes to the culture of service excellence.
- Obtains appropriate continuing medical education credits as a requirement for maintaining licensure and national certifications.
