APP Neurosurgery Piedmont Athens Hospital

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an advanced practice provider to join a very busy Neurosurgical practice on our Piedmont Athens campus. This position typically requires availability for a minimum of two days per week with potential for four.

• Assist with hospital rounds and surgical support.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in patients' medical record in ambulatory practice.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise.
• Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
• Complete pre‑op appointments for all surgical patients and work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances, and testing are satisfactorily completed well before surgery.

• Preferred: 3-5 years of Neurosurgical experience with a high degree of clinical judgment.
• Minimum:
  Masters or Bachelors Degree from an accredited PA program and National Board Certification.
