Overview
Whatever the role, everyone at Grady is part of something bigger. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or the Physician, maintains a safe environment, educates patients and families, collects information, communicates effectively, and utilizes technology. The LPN participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care delivery.
The role includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and supervision of unlicensed personnel.
- Provide age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive nursing care under supervision.
- Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of health care services.
- Educate patients and their families, and communicate effectively with the care team.
- Maintain a safe environment and utilize technology as part of care delivery.
- Advocate for patients and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Supervise unlicensed personnel as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.
- Current Georgia License as a Practical Nurse required.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Card required.
- Previous Long Term Care Experience strongly preferred.
