Position: Nurse Practitioner for Nephrology Office, Dialysis Clinic, and Hospital

Position Overview

North Georgia Nephrology Consultants is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing nephrology practice. This position offers a dynamic work environment across our main office in Athens, GA and satellite clinics in Monroe and Loganville, with additional exposure to hospital-based care under physician supervision.

We welcome both experienced providers and new graduates who are eager to build a career in nephrology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with kidney-related conditions, including chronic kidney disease (CKD), hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and dialysis management
  • Conduct patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Monitor and manage patients undergoing dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis)
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications
  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Georgia (or eligible for licensure)
  • Membership in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) required
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous software experience with Epic is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, especially in nephrology, internal medicine, or related fields
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply
Work Schedule
  • Part-time applicants will be considered
  • Rotating schedule between Athens (main office), Monroe, and Loganville locations
  • Occasional hospital coverage (a few hours weekly) with physician supervision
