Athens Gastroenterology Center is a small, patient-focused practice dedicated to providing high-quality digestive healthcare. We prioritize a collaborative work environment where providers have a support system and the opportunity to make a real impact on patient care.

We are seeking a skilled, motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with our physician to provide comprehensive care in a gastroenterology practice, including supporting the on‑call physician as needed.

• Conduct patient evaluations, medical histories, and physical exams
• Diagnose and treat digestive disorders under physician guidance
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications
• Assist in pre- and post-procedure patient management
• Provide support for the on‑call physician, helping to coordinate patient care
• Collaborate with our physician, nurses, and support staff to ensure high-quality care

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) in Georgia
• Board certification as a PA or NP (FNP, AGNP or ACNP preferred)
• Experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or primary care (preferred, but not required)
• At least 2+ years experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA preferred) or 5+ years experience as a Registered Nurse (hospital based)
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Comfortable with computers; EMR knowledge preferred
