Hr Evening – Morning.
Capable clinician with previous specialty experience preferred, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. Consistently provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. Seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Assumes a beginning clinical bedside leadership role and seeks mentoring in this process. Participates in governance and quality teams, helping with plans to improve NDNQI nursing sensitive indicators, RN Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, Culture of Safety, and Patient Experience data.
Works together with other care team members to recruit and retain an excellent nursing care team. For new graduate RNs, focuses primarily on developing knowledge and skills and showing growth in ability to care for increasingly complex patients.
- Demonstrate basic assessment skills and the 5 rights of medication administration.
- Manage care for basic patient assignments and progress to caring for increasingly complex patients.
- Accurately document all aspects of the nursing process using the electronic medical record.
- Understand and comply with all DNV standards, access and follow policies.
- Evaluate patient response to interventions and adjust the plan of care appropriately.
- Consistently coordinate interdisciplinary care and use resources effectively to reduce waste.
- Participate in PI processes and maintain the work environment to ensure compliance with DNV regulations.
- Coordinate discharge planning and actively contribute to a culture of safety.
- Include patients and families in patient care and provide effective education based on their learning needs.
- Demonstrate customer‑service behaviors and participate in unit‑based initiatives.
- Plan patient care based on assessment, display basic prioritization and time‑management skills.
- Utilize unit resources to increase understanding of unfamiliar patient populations.
- Recognize signs of patient deterioration and access appropriate resources.
- Read and apply nursing research/EBP articles.
- Participate in discharge planning with increasing responsibility and coordination.
- Demonstrate the ability to rapidly recognize and anticipate changes in patient status while maintaining professional composure.
- Support unit goals, shared governance initiatives, and personal learning plans.
- Supervise and ensure completion of tasks assigned to ancillary/support staff.
- Serve in a unit leadership role, including Nurse in Charge responsibilities such as patient flow, matching resources to patients for the shift, and escalating concerns up the chain of command.
- Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia.
- Associate Nursing Degree required.
- At least one (1) year of professional RN experience (new graduates referred to the RN Residency Program).
- Basic computer skills necessary to operate unit computer systems.
- National certification in a clinical specialty, if eligible.
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree.
- One (1) year experience in Long Term Care.
- Membership in a professional organization.
- Weight lifted: up to 100lbs (occasionally 0‑30% of time).
- Weight carried: up to 50lbs (occasionally 0‑30% of time).
- Vision: moderate; frequent comfortable use and moderate concentration.
- Kneeling/Stooping/Bending: frequently 31‑65% of time.
