Nurse Residency Unit (Teaching Unit) Preceptors needed

Location: Athens, GA

Hours: Full time, Days 7am-7pm

Overview: The 20-bed Nurse Residency Unit supports three cohorts of new graduate nurses each year. Preceptors provide a solid clinical foundation during orientation before rotation to home units. The NRU creates a safe learning environment and offers support from the leadership team and Nurse Residency Coordinator.

• The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Functions within the organization’s policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability.
• Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
• Patient ratios are determined by various factors including volume and acuity; circumstances may require lower or higher ratios.

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Current State of Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate license.
• BLS certification required.
• For PRN positions:
  One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Advanced certification in specialty field, if applicable.
