Charge Nurse - MedSurg, Pulmonary, Nights

The 12-bed Pulmonary Unit is located on the 6th floor of the new Main Tower. The clinical staff on Pulmonary work closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists and respiratory therapists to provide top‑notch care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues.

In the state‑of‑the‑art new Main Tower, the Pulmonary nurse provides high‑quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients. The nurse functions within the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Pulmonary nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient‑care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

• Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift.
• Provides clinical care as needed when census demands.
• Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leaders.
• Serves as a resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.

Specialty Differential

Graduate of a nursing program.

One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.

Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.

• Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Advanced certification in the field of specialty, if applicable.
• Demonstrated clinical competency.
