New River Veterinary Specialists is a brand new, 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital including surgery, physical rehabilitation, critical care, internal medicine, and emergency.

We are looking for individuals that are hard-working, compassionate and empathic with people as well as animals, dependable, organized, enjoy client communication, and able to work well with our diverse team. Anesthesia and surgery experience is a strong plus but we are looking for all skill levels. We love to teach to help you learn and reach your potential. All technicians will be cross-trained in the other areas of the hospital which not only improves your skill set but also allows you to be able to gain additional knowledge and training, while on the job!

The Surgery Service offers three large OR suites, Force Triad, arthroscopy/laparoscopy, C-arm for minimally invasive fracture management, and PRP. You will see, and be involved in, a variety of surgeries from soft tissue (abdominal, thoracic, oncologic, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy, wound management, etc.), orthopedic (arthroscopy, TPLO, patella stabilization, fracture management, trauma, etc.), and neurosurgery. Full anesthesia monitoring equipment for all patients and anesthesia ventilators as indicated.

A fully staffed ICU available for patient recovery.

Responsibilities include patient receiving/discharges, performing diagnostic imaging (radiographs, CT, MRI), anesthesia and monitoring, preop patient prep, surgical assistance, post op recovery, instrument pack prep, record management (Instinct), and client communication/call backs. On-call for emergency surgery is required but shared by the entire technical staff. The Surgery Team is supported by 24/7 ER/Critical Care. If you have experience, great! If you want to grow and learn but are intimidated by advanced care and diagnostics, don’t worry, we will teach and support you.

Hardeeville, SC is part of the Hilton Head – Bluffton – Beaufort metropolitan area with easy access to beaches and inland waterways for sunning, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, etc. You can explore numerous nature trails on foot or horseback. There are plenty of great restaurants, shops, and golf. In addition, you are just a short drive from beautiful historic Savannah, GA or the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge and Hilton Head Island.

Technicians should be LVT, RVT, or currently enrolled in a technical program.
