Student Assistant
Will perform a variety of duties involved in the projects and activities of Dr. McAvoy’s vegetable research program such as land preparation, sowing, transplanting, crop maintenance, harvesting, postharvest evaluation and land cleanup. Data collection and entry abilities are preferred. All tasks will be performed under the direction and supervision of the horticulture technician.
Required/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in PositionHigh School Diploma
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies- Good communication skills
- Follow both oral and written instructions
- Ability to work effectively on an independent basis; as well as, in a team focused environment
- Knowledge and skill in the operation of computers and MS Office Suite program
- Lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
- Bend, stoop, climb, etc.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Driving as needed to perform job duties
