Overview
This part‑time (up to 20 hours per week) temporary position supports the Variety Testing program, performing seed lab activities and sometimes field work. The assistant reports to Daniel Mailhot, Program Director.
Responsibilities- Supporting seed lab activities including inventory, packaging, quality evaluations and ginning of cotton samples – 60%.
- Supporting field activities including planting, data collection, and harvest – 30%.
- Cleaning of workspace and state vehicles – 10%.
- High School Graduate.
Driving. Occasionally lift 30-lb bags, sitting, standing, reaching, pulling, bending, and walking. Tolerance of outdoor working conditions including sun, heat, humidity, insects, and potentially dust. Indoor exposures include dust and potentially noise.
* Includes some exposure to peanut and wheat allergens.
