• Rapidly identify and count small insects under stereo microscope magnification.
• Assist with insect colonies, plant seeds/seedlings and other duties related to entomological research.
• Process samples (frozen or in alcohol) in scheduled weekly timelines.
• Check colonies and the plants that maintain these colonies twice weekly.
• Participate in weekly lab meetings to determine other duties.

The vegetable entomology research laboratory conducts investigation into how pest insects affect vegetable productivity in Georgia and how to best control these pests.

• Will be on-time for the assigned times of work.

Looking through the stereo microscope for hours at a time to perform insect counts; lifting soil tubs and standard potting trays with full pots; driving.
