Student Assistant - Li Lab

Position Summary

Student assistant in Dr. Zenglu Li’s lab.

• Take agronomic notes, collect data, and harvest soybean research plots in the field (50% of time).
• Work in the seed lab to weigh and clean samples, thresh individual plants, and prepare seed for spring planting (50% of time).

• Students with background education in agriculture and/or chemistry.
• Experience with soybean or near-infrared spectroscopy.

Regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate a commercial grinder and computer, reach, and stoop/kneel to lift. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Exposure to moderate-loud noise (earplugs provided). Sit and perform repetitive tasks for long periods. Exposure to soybeans and ground soybean/soybean dust (dust mask provided).
