Location: Tifton Area, University of Georgia.

Start Date: 04/26/2026.

Entry‑level student research worker position. The incumbent will work during the summer to aid the Cotton and Vegetable Crops Nematology team on research‑related activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to watering and maintaining greenhouse plants and cultures, extracting nematodes from soil samples, enumerating nematode eggs, collecting soil samples from the field, planting and harvesting crops, and cleaning laboratory supplies. Depending on performance, experience and interest the incumbent may be given the opportunity to conduct research on plant‑parasitic nematodes of cotton and vegetable crops and present findings at national and international conferences.

• Aid the team in watering greenhouse, maintaining greenhouse plants and cultures, mixing soil for greenhouse studies, and planting and harvesting greenhouse experiments (25%).
• Aid the team in collecting soil samples from the field, planting and harvesting crops in the field, and maintaining field trials (25%).
• Extract nematodes from soil samples and enumerate nematode egg populations (35%).
• Clean laboratory supplies (15%).

• High school diploma.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and endure outdoor conditions for extended periods.
• Driving required.
• Security access (e.g., chemicals), proficiency in handling laboratory equipment.
