Research Assistant/Associate
Duties/Responsibilities
- On-site survey data collection at KEMO.
- Securement of completed questionnaire until Dr. Kyle Woosnam can collect.
Two data collection assistants are needed to collect survey data from Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park (KEMO) visitors between January 2024 and December 2024. The job will require 8‑16 hours of work per month, with no more than 4 hours per shift. Days are flexible and will be determined with feedback from Dr. Kyle Woosnam. Employees will work at KEMO and be positioned at varying locations depending on day of week and time of day to intercept visitors and ask them to complete an on‑site questionnaire that should take no more than 10‑12 minutes to complete.
Individual will be responsible for securing completed questionnaires that will be periodically collected by Dr. Kyle Woosnam or one of his doctoral research assistants.
- Preferred candidate will have experience volunteering at KEMO and assisting the national park with visitation/planning/management matters.
- Ideally the employees would live in or near Kennesaw, Georgia.
People skills in communicating with park users and others; someone who is not afraid to approach visitors and ask them to participate in a pencil and paper questionnaire.
Physical DemandsOutdoor work with exposure to weather conditions. Tents will be provided in warm weather; UGA apparel in both warm and cold temperatures.
