Position Summary
This position involves sorting and recording nematode plant and soil samples that received from our clients, filling of 100cc beakers with soil, extracting plant‑parasitic nematodes from samples, accurately entering nematode assay results into a database system, washing glassware, discarding leftover soil and plant samples, keeping the lab neat and clean, and if necessary, sterilizing glassware, remaining out‑of‑state soil samples and other related materials in an autoclave.
In addition to processing nematode diagnostic samples, incumbent would work on various greenhouse and field research projects on the management of plant‑parasitic nematodes associated with different crops. Specifically, incumbent would maintain both greenhouse and field experiments, apply treatments, and may travel to layout trials and record relevant data.
Standing, bending, enduring outside and/or inside elements for extended periods of time. Lift up to 50 lbs. Minimal lifting/bending in the normal operations of a typical office/lab environment. Travel to/from multiple locations to complete job duties. Driving.
