Postdoctoral Research Associate

Position Number: G/R33070P. Department: VPR-Owens Institute Behavioral Research.

Employment Type:

Full‑time, exempt, FTE 1.00. Salary: $55,000. Anticipated start date: 06/15/2026. Posting date: 05/06/2026. Closing:

Position Summary

The postdoctoral research associate assists Dr. Ahn with activities related to the Translational Core, including literature reviews, message development, virtual reality content creation, and user testing, as well as drafting reports, white papers, and grant proposals. The postdoc will also contribute to community outreach, event planning, and social media content for the CHARTER project, and manage day‑to‑day operations of the CACHE center.

Responsibilities
  • Manage laboratory operations, including hardware maintenance, repairs, and software updates.
  • Analyze and collect quantitative and qualitative data (20% of time).
  • Prepare and submit human subject committee proposals, write grants, review literature, and prepare manuscripts (20% of time).
  • Develop virtual simulations and conduct user testing (20% of time).
  • Organize community events and liaison activities with community partners (10% of time).
  • Draft peer‑reviewed manuscripts for conferences and journals.
Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Communication, Social Psychology, Public Health, Human‑Computer Interaction, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with virtual reality content development and evaluation.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in translational science and community outreach.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and manuscript preparation.
