Minimum Qualifications Position Summary

The postdoctoral research and teaching associate will conduct research in the Department of Entomology under the mentorship of PI Altizer. Research will leverage existing community science data on monarch butterfly occurrence, host plant distributions, and infection status to understand monarch distribution across North America, with particular focus on the Southeastern US. The researcher will develop related research questions in collaboration with lab members and seek additional funding.

Additional responsibilities include co-teaching one or more undergraduate Entomology courses, mentoring undergraduate and graduate researchers in lab, and developing outreach opportunities that engage the community in monarch and pollinator conservation.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Entomology

* Previous experience working with insects in the field.

* Previous experience with data analysis and writing scholarly papers

* Energetic and self-driven.

* Highly motivated, dependable, and teamwork oriented

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Physical Demands

* Driving as needed to perform job duties.

* Lift 30 pounds
