Position Overview
Postdoctoral research associate – Department of Animal & Dairy Science, University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia. The role focuses on the pathological and therapeutic roles of extracellular vesicles in neuromuscular disease, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and on efficient CRISPR‑mediated gene therapy.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in the laboratory (90% of time).
- Supervise student workers and undergraduate students that assist with research (10% of time).
- Ph.D. with a strong background in molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, cell biology, bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Prior experience in stem cell/iPSC culture, mouse genetics, high‑throughput genomic approaches (single‑cell sequencing, ChIP‑seq, ATAC‑seq, Hi‑C) and data analysis, and CRISPR‑mediated genome editing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A track record of productivity and publications in well‑established journals.
Minimal lifting or bending in the normal operations of a typical office/lab environment.
