• PhD in avian medicine, infectious diseases epidemiology or a related field of study is required.

• Standard laboratory skills as well as expertise in molecular biological techniques is required.
• Background supervising research projects, including experimental design is required.
• General computer knowledge is required.

• Perform independent studies (60%): focus on avian mycoplasma vaccine development, development of novel diagnostic techniques, immune response, and epidemiology.
• Data analysis, preparation of oral or written reports, and manuscript preparation (30%).
• Coordinate research lab projects, assist in training graduate and undergraduate students, and teach the graduate course Problems in Population Health (POPH 8900) focusing on population health management (10%).

Ability to stand or sit for long periods. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
