Position Title
Research Associate II – Norris Department, Vet Med-Vaccines & Immun Ctr
Position SummaryIndependently performs components of a research program as directed by a senior member of the research team. Involves designing certain aspects of research projects as needed, conducting complementary work to overall research objectives, and training staff in laboratory procedures as required.
Key Responsibilities- Performance of laboratory experiments, including tissue culture and maintenance of cell lines, preparation and purification of monoclonal antibodies and related proteins.
- Processing microbial samples and performance of animal studies under BSLII+ conditions.
- Data analysis and preparation of data for presentation.
- Maintenance of records of experimental procedures and results in electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Interpretation and presentation of data.
- Assisting in the training of other technical support staff.
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science and 2 years of professional experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science (e.g., Biology, microbiology, immunology, biochemistry) and 2 years of professional experience.
Standing/sitting for long periods of time.
