Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on the molecular basis of plant‑nematode interactions, including identifying nematode genes important for parasitism and host resistance, and characterizing host target genes essential for compatibility and resistance.
  • Handle and analyze genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets, clone candidate plant and nematode genes, and use a variety of molecular and genetic approaches to characterize the function of these genes in nematode parasitism in both crop and model plant systems.
  • Care for plants and/or pathogen cultures required for executing research experiments, including planting, watering, harvesting, and propagating nematode cultures.
  • Collect and analyze data from experiments directly and in collaboration with the principal investigator.
