Post-Doctoral Associate

Position Summary

Principal Investigator Dr. Cai’s lab focuses on fatty acid‑mediated metabolism and extracellular vesicle–mediated delivery of gene‑editing machinery. Supported by NIH, DoD, and American Institute for Cancer Research grants, the role offers the opportunity to develop CRISPR delivery technology for disease treatment.

• Isolate extracellular vesicles, conduct mammalian cell culture, and perform bacterial culture.
• Develop xenograft tumor and patient‑derived xenograft (PDX) mouse models.
• Manage the laboratory: order supplies, maintain lab services, organize supplies, and train graduate and undergraduate students.

• Ph.D. in exosome isolation, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience with basic molecular biology techniques and mouse models.
• Highly motivated to publish high‑impact research.
• Excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills.

• Frequent movement around the laboratory; occasional heavy‑equipment operation.
• Prolonged use of a biosafety cabinet; extended periods of sitting.
