Position Summary
This research coordinator position is within the Clinical Affective Neuroscience lab directed by Dr. Gregory Strauss. The role involves clinical aspects of the research program and coordinating day-to-day responsibilities for the research protocol.
Minimum QualificationsRequires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2‑year degree, or professional certificate. Contact HR for evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies- Basic understanding and knowledge of scientific/medical terminology and research.
- Skill in statistical interpretation and data analysis using Excel, Access, SPSS, and other mandatory software.
- Detail oriented with strong accountability in research.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interviewing research volunteers, interacting with staff, and conducting experimental sessions.
- Ability to independently perform or lead research activities.
- Ability to participate in the design of research studies and preparation of technical procedures and reports.
Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 20 lbs and carrying up to 20 lbs.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinates with principal investigator to ensure that clinical research and related activities comply with regulations, sponsored agency policies, and university procedures.
Responsible for scheduling, recruiting, interviewing participants and performing neuropsychological and computerized testing. Must handle petty cash for research participant incentives.
Supervises data entry for the UGA site, uploads data to the online system, and coordinates with the lab coordinator at other sites.
