Position Summary
Work involves 50% fieldwork and 50% lab work processing samples. Fieldwork includes planting, maintaining crops, and sampling field trials. Lab work includes sorting and inspecting plant samples, measuring, and data entry in Excel. The role may require out-of-town travel during the workday and typically operates in hot summer conditions.
Responsibilities- Field and work processing of samples, including planting, maintaining, harvesting, and processing field studies. Data collection.
- Laboratory work including processing, sorting, and inspecting plant samples for diseases and insect damages. Data collection and entry.
- High school or equivalent education and work experience in laboratory and field settings or related area.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Bend and lift up to 50 pounds, work in a laboratory for multiple hours daily. Duties may involve intermittent out-of-town travel to research plots. Driving required.
