Research Assistant; Byers Lab

Research Assistant (Byers Lab) – Ecology, Odum School of Ecology. Athens Area. Position type:
Employee. Expected start: 08/24/2026. Closing date: 07/23/2026.

• Assist with field and laboratory work, data analysis, and exploratory projects such as invasive fiddler crab experimentation, oyster reef ecology, marine species life history database, and marine parasites (50% of time).
• Travel to Athens, the Whitney Lab, Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, Sapelo Island, and other coastal sites in GA, SC, and FL to support laboratory projects (20% of time).
• Maintain laboratory efficiency: restock supplies, service truck, boat, and trailer (15% of time).
• Design and lead auxiliary projects aligned with current research foci of the Byers lab (15% of time).
