Position Information

Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science and 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

The Research Associate position is housed in the Department of Animal & Dairy Science at the University of Georgia’s Tifton Campus. This role is responsible for coordinating and supporting applied research and demonstration activities in beef cattle nutrition and forage/grazing management. This role involves implementing research protocols, managing daily trial operations, and overseeing livestock and field components, including data and sample collection and organization.

The individual will provide leadership and supervision to graduate students and temporary labor, ensuring proper training, safe livestock handling, and maintenance of research areas.

The individual selected will be expected to make decisions in regards to animal and forage management, including herd health monitoring, livestock processing, grazing strategies, and pasture/hayfield management practices. Additional responsibilities include organizing and analyzing research data, preparing reports and presentations, supporting extension and outreach events, and conducting laboratory analyses related to feed and forage evaluation.

This position involves the use of a P-card.
